Overview

What is a Lip Shortening?

The Procedure

What does the procedure involve?

Shortens the vertical distance between the upper lip and the base of the nose by removing a small strip of skin beneath the nose and carefully closing the incision. This brings the upper lip into a more balanced position and can increase the visible red lip.

Candidacy

Who is a suitable candidate?

Patients with a relatively long upper lip who want a shorter, more balanced distance between the nose and upper lip and potentially more visible upper-lip vermilion. Patients should have realistic expectations about the permanent change and resulting scar.
