Overview

What is a Abdominoplasty?

The Procedure

What does the procedure involve?

Removes excess abdominal skin and fat and reshapes the abdominal wall where necessary. A low abdominal incision is used to remove the excess tissue, the remaining skin is redraped and the navel is repositioned; muscle repair may be performed when indicated.

Candidacy

Who is a suitable candidate?

Generally healthy patients at a stable weight, particularly women after pregnancy and childbirth who have loose abdominal skin and persistent fat deposits. It may also be suitable following significant weight loss and is a body-contouring rather than weight-loss procedure.
